A custom pool should be designed for the property, not picked from a standard layout and forced into the backyard. We build custom inground concrete pools, and every project starts with the conditions that shape it: the yard, the home, how you will use the pool, access, grade, and your plans for the space around it.

Understand the property and your goals
We start by talking about how you want to use the pool and what you want it to add to your home. The layout of the yard, the architectural style of the house, available access, and the relationship between the pool and other outdoor areas all influence the design.
Map the pool location
Before construction, we map the proposed pool location so you can review the placement and ask for adjustments. This helps connect the pool to the home, patio, yard circulation, and existing features that need to stay accessible.
Develop and refine the design
We use pool-design software to show you the concept, then refine it with your feedback before construction begins. Shapes, spas, tanning shelves, water features, coping, decking, and covers can all be part of the backyard plan. Learn more about our custom pool design process.
Build the inground concrete pool
We build inground pools with dry shotcrete, a form of concrete. Construction planning also accounts for the pool's relationship to surrounding grades, retaining elements, access routes, equipment, and outdoor-living features.
Solving difficult sites
On the Swimming Pool Spa Project in Fredericksburg, we removed a failed fiberglass pool and replaced it with a new gunite pool, moved the spa closer to the home, and added a raised bond beam with stone facing and water features.
The Scordellis Swimming Pool, also in Fredericksburg, had more than five feet of grade change and limited access because of an existing shed. A retaining wall, a reverse bond beam, and a sun shelf kept the grade down near the shed. Grade, drainage, access, and existing structures are worth discussing at the very first visit.
Permits and inspections
Pool permits and inspections are handled by the locality where the property is located. Inside the City of Fredericksburg, the City requires permits before most construction work begins; its inspection guidance lists pool-related inspections such as electrical bonding and steel placement, and its Pool and Barrier Affidavit covers responsibility for the pool, barrier, electrical, plumbing, gas, and final inspection. Properties in surrounding counties follow that county's requirements. We talk through permits and responsibilities before work starts.

Before we start digging the first hole, we survey your property. We do this to determine the best strategy for getting the heavy equipment onto your property. This is done in order to minimize any impact to your home while we are building your swimming pool

While We Are Building Your Inground Swimming Pool
An inground swimming pool construction project can be intense! It requires a lot of planning, signoffs and a swimming pool design that is created just for your property. When this is done properly, building the swimming pool becomes much easier. We work hard at continuously communicating to you what is going to happen and what needs to be in place before each stage of the build process is initiated.
Inground swimming pool construction can be a stressful process. We aim to keep the stress lower by constantly communicating with you as the swimming pool is being built. This helps us by ensuring our clients are happy during this stressful time.
After the Swimming Pool Construction Project is Completed
Just because the swimming pool is done and has water in it doesn't mean we are done! We work hard to restore your property to like-new condition. We remove the equipment, clean up the yard, smooth everything back out and get the yard ready to plant grass. We like to come back to take pictures of our work to show potential clients. It's in our best interest to make sure your property looks great with your new inground swimming pool!
