Planning an inground pool in Loudoun County starts with more than choosing a shape. The finished pool must work with the property, the home, the surrounding grade, and the way your family expects to use the backyard. The Pool Company Construction helps homeowners move from an early idea to a coordinated pool and outdoor-living plan.
Construction begins with the property
Every backyard presents different questions. A sloped lot may need retaining walls or carefully layered elevations. A compact yard may require a more deliberate pool, patio, and equipment layout. Existing landscaping, access for construction, drainage, privacy, and the relationship between the pool and home all influence the design.
Our pool design process begins by looking at the property and discussing how you want to use the pool. The design is then presented for your feedback, revised as needed, and approved before construction moves forward.
Loudoun County pool projects in our portfolio
Our Stonehenge Swimming Pool project in Chantilly was built into the side of a hill near a stone quarry. Two two-foot retaining walls addressed the steep backyard. The project also included a rectangular pool, an automatic cover with a hidden leading bar, an outdoor fireplace, a tanning shelf, Aegean Green quartz plaster, and a paver deck installed over a concrete subdeck.
The Classic Swimming Pool with Old World Feel, also in Chantilly, paired a rectangular pool with a detached spa raised 18 inches above the pool. Water moved through a spillway into a small catch pool, while concrete-based pavers and a putting green extended the backyard's use beyond swimming.
Permit planning for a Loudoun County pool
Loudoun County's current pool-permit guidance states that residential applicants may need building and zoning permits, a property plat showing the pool location, setbacks, and equipment, and a pool-fence acknowledgment. A grading permit may be required when the disturbed area exceeds 5,000 square feet. Electrical or gas permits may also apply depending on the project.
Properties served by well and septic may require Health Department approval before permit application. Stormwater easements, conservation easements, and underground utilities should also be reviewed early. The county identifies required inspections for items such as steel, perimeter bonding, electrical work, gas work, and final approval. Review the official Loudoun County pool-permit guidance for current requirements.
A clearer path from planning to construction
A successful pool project depends on decisions being made in the right order: understand the property, define how the pool will be used, develop the design, review the required approvals, and coordinate construction details. Our team can discuss your goals and help identify the questions that should be answered before work begins.
